Grassland ecosystem

A grassland ecosystem is an area where mainly herbaceous and grass are found. About 20% of the earth’s surface is covered by grassland.
Grasslands emerged 65.5 million years ago during the Cenozoic era. The grassland ecosystem can be seen in different parts of the world where the annual rainfall is about 70 to 100 cm. They are found in various parts of North America, South America, Australia, Europe.
Grassland ecosystem are three types
1. Tropical grassland ecosystem
2. Temperate grassland ecosystem
3. Polar grassland ecosystem
