Just watched a lecture about this opera and then found it difficult to find a production of it with English subtitles. Translated libretto is hard to use because all productions (and there are not so many) in the last decades are abridged. Very appreciative of finding this one!

An amazingly emotional farewell to one of opera's greats - Joan Sutherland - her final performance in Sydney in 1990. Richard Bonynge, her husband, collaborator and conductor of nearly all her opera performances from 1962 onwards conducts this performance too.

What a very good performance, thank you for the upload. An opera played not enough these times. Had the privilige to hear and see it in Berlin some years ago. But coming back to this one here: Is this clapping while the orchestra is still playing really necessary? ;-)
