Alameda County has voted blue since 1962, and currently swings about 80 percent that way. There are two whole generations out there who "vote blue no matter who", and they won't change overnight. It's going to get lots worse before it gets better.

OAKLAND (KPIX) -- The Oakland City Council approved a budget early Thursday evening that will strip $17.4 million in funding from the Oakland Police Department and direct the money toward other programs.

The $18 million is over the course of the next two years.

There was some expectation that the council would delay the controversial decision but, by a vote of 7-2, the Oakland City Council approved a plan that will redirect the funds from the police department to the Department of Violence Prevention with the intention of improving public safety.

It's hard to feel sorry for the people of Oakland because they voted for the mayor and the clowns on the city council. Oakland got the government it voted for. And sadly, they'll all get re-elected in the next election.

It baffles my mind why Oakland voted in a civil rights attorney, instead of a prosecutor as District Attorney, and Pamela Price barely won at 53%.

Not only Oakland, San Francisco businesses are also closing a lot earlier!!
Even "public" parks managed by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department are shutting down way before the posted hours.
Residents and Businesses are fleeing San Francisco in the hundreds of thousands over the past few years.
