Lesson 6: Aircraft Flight Instruments

This next lesson will focus on Flight Instruments. Being that the powerplant is the heart and soul of an aircraft, the flight instruments are the eyes and ears.
This section will go into great depth on how the pitot-static system operates, and which instruments are connected. They are the altimeter, airspeed indicator, and vertical speed indicator.

We will also discuss the gyro system, which makes up the attitude indicator, turn coordinator, and heading indicator.

Try having the lights off in the class room since it’s really hard to see what’s being shown on the projectors / Screen

Dear Scoot, i have noticed a slight mistake at 1hour and 7 minutes of this video lesson, when you said turning 360 degrees in 2 minutes, and it is exactly 3 degrees per minutes instead of 3 degrees per second.
By the way i love your PPL video lessons, thanks a lot

Very nice video. Do you have a video on how to trouble shoot these instruments? I have a vertical speed indicator and an altimeter installed on my costal sail boat in Florida and they don't seem to be working.

I fly out of KCFO just outside of Denver International and we have to learn density altitude right off the bat compared to those who learn to fly at sea level.

You should dim the lights greatly in your room, in order for the online viewers to be able to read your projections on the screen.
