Great video, stated as a miracle, yet missing ONE WORD, one solitude, individual word... Christianity...

Bang on!
James Henry Sumner Maine’s book ‘Ancient Law’ is more relevant today than when it was written in the later half of the nineteenth century when we were freely trading with Russia as we should again be doing.
Maine predicted collectivist politics in Russia fifty years before occurring.
An absolutely brilliant writer and, one of the great liberators of consciousness along with Plato and, for myself, Arthur Bryant’s work on the Napoleonic Wars.

Excellent. Glad to hear some people still get it.

I think that the idea of individualism with no regard for, as you said, "the king or the priests or anyone else" has created a social rot far worse than a lack of prosperity. I don't care if I can buy 18" television screens to watch a thousand different channels or listen to music on demand if I'm living in a society that has no cultural heart, moral compass or united sense of purpose. England isn't England anymore, and unbridled capitalism that elevates markets over traditions and culture is to blame. Conservatism needs to be our way, not libertarianism.

A very well put point! Thank you.
But could it be that there's a healthy mean between the two extremes of pure status and pure contract? For it seems likely that a society based purely on contract may not be viable; and that some measure of status would be necessary.
Please could you give us your thoughts on this.

The first individual in human history is Abraham. No coincidence.

it was the king who made prosperity impossible until he decided to be less tyranical.
