We practice with all possible weapons and with objects that can be used as a weapon (which is almost all objects)

This is really from Enbukan, not Bujinkan Ninjutsu. It is very common for Bujinkan/Ninjutsu students to study Enbukan (Enshin Itto Ryu Battojutsu). The school, of the Machida family, is located in the same area as Hatsumi Soke. Also, we like to train to use every possible weapon AND modern object, like a deck of cards, regardless of its "ninja" history.

The Wakizashi was used mainly for Indoor Fighting. Samurai were required to remove their Katana when indoors.

Though if you are wanting to try santoryuu then I think it is best you design a sword that is custom for holding in your mouth. It should have a mouthpiece on it. It is pretty much impossible to prevent a regular sword from falling out of you mouth even from the lightest attacks.

@NinjaLearningNetwork Thank you for the swift response. I was wondering because a friend recently gave me a wakizashi and since I enjoy it so much I want to buy an actual sized katana. I intend to have it mailed however I am also paranoid regarding the legality of that as well.

@eranamter The Wakizashi was your for lack of a beter word, stand by, say your inside a building, japanese door ways hang kindv'e low, and if you tried a shomenuchi near one you'd hit it plus the katana isn't the longest of blades, but in side of a small room filled with people it feels like it's 30 ft long, so the Wakizashi would beter suit you in that situation. In Regards to seppuku as i understand it was a tanto that was the sword of choice, it's small usually about 10-14 inches in total.

The typical ninjatō carried by a ninja would most likely have been a wakizashi or shortsword fitted with a katana-length handle and placed in a katana-length saya (scabbard). Hence why any physical evidence may have not been found due to certain specifications of how the blade was visually represented.

What a beautiful and fast looking blade you have. It looks a tad short for your height. Is there a standard in Ninjitsu, as in Kenjitsu for determining proper sword length? Thanks friend.
