These two cruciferous veggies both have some amazing health benefits - but which should you get onto your plate on a regular basis if you're worried about obesity or diabetes?

1) The American Diabetes Association recommends eating 3 to 5 servings of non-starchy vegetables daily. Both broccoli and cauliflower can fit into this category.

2) Both broccoli and cauliflower are considered to be cruciferous vegetables - low calorie, nutrient-dense veggies that are descended from the mustard plant brassica oleracea.

3) Both contain more protein than most other vegetables, and both are low in calories, though cauliflower has a slightly smaller calorie count.

4) Broccoli has a good amount of vitamin A, while cauliflower contains no vitamin A.

5) 1 cup of broccoli can contain the full amount of daily recommended vitamin C. Cauliflower contains about half the amount of vitamin C as compared to broccoli. Broccoli also contains more vitamin K than cauliflower.

6) Broccoli also contains more fiber than cauliflower, though both contain a good amount in general.

7) Both broccoli and cauliflower contain beneficial omega-3 fats, but cauliflower contains more than broccoli.

8) Broccoli contains sulforaphane, a beneficial, anti-inflammatory compound which can improve gut health.

9) Cauliflower contains nitrogen, sulfur, and glucosinolates, which can all help fight cancer cell growth.

10) Cauliflower has the ability to be a low carb, low calorie substitute for potato, rice, and bread products.

*My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*

Cauliflower is considered a superfood because of its nutrient-rich content. It is high in fiber, and vitamins B and C. It also contains high concentrations of carotenoids (antioxidants) and glucosinolates.

I have substituted riced cauliflower for rice to reduce carbs and calories, and I can’t tell the difference in taste. I buy riced cauliflower from the Whole Foods markets.

Broccoli can be riced also. Sometimes I mix it with cauliflower. I guess I could try to make a pizza crust out of it and see how it comes out or even a mix to replace mashed potatoes. Sure seems like it’s worth a try! I also use riced cauliflower in my chicken soup or a crockpot full of peppers, turkey sausage or meatballs with a no sugar added tomato sauce. My fave is Hunts garlic, basil and oregano sauce. Only 2 net carbs a serving and .50 a can. Works for me!

Although I am subscribed, this infomercial would be so much better if it just presented the facts without the hyperbole, without the blatant advertising laced through the presentation, it's hard to determine the facts and truth as you don't know what they are selling vs what is truth from fiction made up to make their products look good.

Why do stores cut off stems on broccoli? My favorite part of broccoli. I don't care too much for the flower. Isn't the stem higher in vitamins?

Cauliflower tastes way better compared to tasteless broccoli.
I will eat twice the amount of Cauliflower 😤 and its less expensive as well.

For me it is a matter of taste.... I can eat cauliflower if I eat it very quickly and then eat something with a strong flavor to "wash out my taste bubs"... no need to do this with broccoli.
