"Whatever begins to exist has a cause"
No, nothing "begins to exist". Everything is just a rearrangement of particles that we humans decided to slap labels on. Technically, a table never "began to exist". Wood was rearranged in a certain way then we humans decided to label this rearrangement "table".

I’ve met atheist academics who used to believe the universe was eternal, then when they were forced to admit it had a cause said they were incurious about it. I concluded they really just didn’t want to follow the evidence where we all know it leads to—God. This would also explain why many are attracted to the Ancient Greek many worlds fable.

Nobody can prove or disprove the Cosmos is or is not eternal. So when Bill begins his argument with the assertion that the Cosmos had a beginning he is making a claim from his own ignorance.
It is just as likely that the Cosmos did or did not have a beginning as it is that a creator god did or did not not have a beginning. Without evidence for either claim these are meaningless words.
William Lane Craig is wrong because I BELIEVE the Cosmos is eternal and does not need a creator.
Prove me wrong.
