Book spoilers are light/minimal, though I do discuss/speculate about easter eggs from this episode that might suggest certain possible future book/show storylines. Nothing major in this one, maybe some very minor book 4 spoilers (The Shadow Rising), but I don't think you have to have read the books to watch this review. I had a lot to say about this one but I forgot to rate it! 😅 I went back and forth in this review but after re-watching it a third time I actually like this episode more than episode 2. I'd give it an 8/10! What did you think of this episode! Remember to be kind!

The forsaken meeting sort of hints why Moggy wanted to kill Nynaeve, I got the impression that she disliked stronger channelers and wanted to kill them, but would always pick off the easiest targets first. Nynaeve being the strongest in this Age but so bad at channelling, makes her a juicy, easy target.

I think the greyman was sent by Moghedien as a favor to Rhavin to off Elayne. Destabilizing Morgase for his takeover

Elaida was scheming against Siuan. She knew that Min was a spy for Leane, yet she still bluntly told her that she was gonna depose Siuan soon.

In the eyes of Leane and Siuan, Elaida was a collaborator with the Highest of Red Ajah, to initiate a vote to depose Siuan. Thus Leane and Siuan planned to send the Highest of the Red on the mission of false dragon hunting, to reduce the influence of Red in the hall.

Yet, what they didn't know is, Elaida used them to get rid of the Highest, in order to seize power in her absence, and proceed to her subsequent schemes. (Afterall, who could possibly "tell" the Highest of the Red what to do, except the Amyrlin ?)

Elaida was really well written in the show so far. Really wish they could deliver!

I think Elaida was trying to manipulate Min rather than trying to help her. I don't think her intentions were selfless.

10:57 this is the second time a grey man specifically targets Nynaeve. Maybe we will find out that Moghedian has marked her a a special threat because of her power, and so she was actively trying to remove her.

I have to say, as someone re-reading the books now (just finished book 4), the season is doing a great job of throwing us treats from the novels and using direct dialogue from dragon reborn and shadow rising.

The most common thought I've seen with Elaida is that her shaking is an after effect of having compulsion on her. Verin mentioned this, I think last season, when they found the novice logs altered.

Interestingly my family (non book readers) are loving some characters that I didn't think they would (e.g. Lanfear) over the characters everyone seems to love in the books!

The show's storylines make sense to them and they love it.

The only niggle for me was the two rivers scenes which i felt needed fleshing out more fully and they should have used the line 'can you replace that' from the books. I loved the fight so much after waiting for it for 20 years. I would have preferred the boys to be humiliated in front of the novices of course. I think the casting has been amazing this season to be honest.

I like the show very much. I think the reason is because I haven't read the books. Books to screen adaptations are very hard. It's expensive and tedious. I think No show in the world have or will ever get it 90% let alone 100%. The show is good as long as Cast, dialogue, Accurate FX shots and ability to manage their Vast cast harmonically.
I hope the show gets more funding tho. We need a longer runtime episode wise. It's a huge cast and I will love to see more of my favourite characters recurring (even if it's not in the Books). 8 episodes will never be enough.
Anyways I hope the Show gets renewed for season 4 and 5. It would be so nice.

I love how Rahvin, as a politician and diplomat, gets along with the rest of the Forsaken by playing all sides. He is like an intermediary of sorts but without the commanding presence of Ishamael, the Dark One’s favorite.

I think Elayne and Nynaeve being allowed to interrogate was the only thing that was clumsily handled, though it was great that the information they gave up was all disbelieved and then proven to be false. I am guessing that we aren’t going down the path that the girls were intentionally lured, and I’m glad about that.

13:27 I totally agree. I also wanted some good hints of Mat’s luck. I feel they could have done it. I wonder if they are holding off on that and letting the memories and fighting be more prominent and the luck will come later, maybe tied to the Finn visit somehow.

This BTS of Shohreh's Day 1 shooting has a much clearer view of the bracelet.
The 'arm/hand shaking', in my opinion, is Elaida's inner self resisting the Compulsion that Gaebril/Rahvin used on her now that she is nowhere near his presence anymore.

9:40 I agree about all the discussing sensitive topics in not so private locations. One particularly irritating scene was when Nynaeve and Elayne got called to Siuan to receive their task of hunting the Black Ajah but as they enter the room they leave the door open (if I remember correctly) and even Siuan herself didn't seem to mind.

However there was another scene shortly after that which I find hilarious and I'm certain it was done that way on purpose by the show runners: Elayne and Nynaeve walk through a hallway and one of them says something about that they can't trust anyone, not even Verin or Leane — right as Verin and Leane cross the hallway directly behind them. 😂

In the making Elida promo video last week the bracelet is shown with a fin label next to it. So it’s connected. The shaking might have nothing to do with the bracelet though. It might be a “hangover” from the compulsion.
