Another Push Pull DRSSTC 30v Test

Is it hopping harmonics or something? Just a primary tuned below the secondary? At this point with the layout interference could just be the problem. Won't be able to get this tuned any better til I get some more caps but it's pretty decent at the moment aside from needing a new topload and primary for higher voltage input. So far I get the same output as my first little drsstc using the same secondary around the same voltage levels but I think I get a little better performance at 12v from the first one and much more beefy arcs above that from this one. About 10nF additional parallel capacitance really gave it the extra juice.

This one is basically the same arrangement as the first but using IRFP250's, 12v zeners across gates, and a bifilar choke pulled from a junk board. It runs a surprisingly long amount of time at decent power without getting the fets really hot on that sink. Runs at about 500 khz. After measuring I get about 4 inch sparks to the hand at 24v and a tad under 6 inches at 30v.

I've tried using blow tire rubber as isolation and noticed it severely dampens the B field, maybe it's the talc like dust that's inside though

Looks like it's jumping in and out of high pole ..🤔

Try making a mmc cap bank of the same capacitance 4 the primary and a 1000's of uf @ 400+ vdc cap on your power supply to support it in burst mode ;) i love yours & teslaundmehrs single mosfet coils & currently tryin to get 1 goin with a irf630 but no beuno just heat... even with a nearby slayer coil to maybe trigger oscillation but no....

Do u understand what the mag wave is on the secondary I bet if you set the primary slightly lower than the last winding on the secondary she would perform extremely
