Damn, this shit hits deep. I saw this movie in my teens after my dad died and identified with Daniel. as I was bullied, Later I wrestled and boxed in high school and placed nationally. In my thirties, I took BJJ. I am now in my fifties and despite professional success I identify with Johnny. I drink too much, have a f*cked up relationship with my niece and nephew, and get into fights but still meditate and train.

I am completely aware that the entire premise of Karate Kid continuation in the age of modern LA tent-cities and wherin even Century City is replete with sidewalk tent-cities, is strange, Im still invested into suspension of disbelief to allow the all-valley karate tournament with 25 year olds masquerading as 17 year olds making my 80s dreams come true. Cobra Kai is fucking awesome.

As a child of the 80s who saw the movie when it came out and remembers the song too I say HELL FUCKING YES to this tribute!!!!

I was in junior high when this movie came out. Love this saga, love the fact they’ve made a ‘tv’ sequel Cobra Kai and omg what a babe Ralph Macchio was. No surprise he was a major heartthrob. Now can someone combine Eye of The Tiger with Rocky/Karate Kid/Creed and Cobra Kai?! Please and thanks
