INSIDE THE NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY (NSA) - WHAT DO THEY DO?

Want to know more about the National Security Agency (NSA)? It is a national-level intelligence agency of the United States Department of Defense, and operates under the authority of the Director of National Intelligence.

The NSA specializes in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), but a lot of what they do is classified. The NSA also has some special operations aspects to it, known as the Special Collection Service and the Scorpion Program.

One thing to add from my own personal Army experience: The NSA runs joint missions with Army and Air Force Cryptologic Linguistst in direct support of tactical operations overseas. We had several AF and Army Linguists stationed at the Ft. Gordon NSA Station directly working with CIA and USSOCOM in the middleeast who were on the ground.

As a Canadian I am truly fascinated with the agency: resourceful, paramount in American secret service. I am still struggling with addiction. Fuck getting to live my dream would get me out once and for all. Finally a life filled with skills and purpose.

Army Security Agency (ASA) used to be the Army grunts of NSA. We had to have a Top Secret SCIF level clearance before we could start our MOS school. My classroom note book had a Secret level with Code Word classification.

Army 17C, Navy CTNs and other similar jobs in other branches often get sent to NSA sites along with sometimes Navy ITs

Cyber does not always require a degree in NSA. They care more about your technical knowledge and capabilities than a piece of paper that says you can read books and write paper. CIA often requires at least a bachelors and most often advanced degrees.
