Which one is better BMX or MTB?

Hello guys my name is Ben and this is BAD bikes and today, we are going to explore the advantages and disadvantages of BMX and MTB and discuss which style is better for you. BMX and mountain biking are two popular bike styles that share some similarities but also have several key differences. Both sports require skill, balance, and coordination, but they offer different experiences and challenges.

BMX, or as the cool kids call it, Bicycle Motocross, is this awesome bike style where people do sick tricks on compact, lightweight bikes with 20-inch wheels. These bad boys are built for speed and agility, making them perfect for racing, doing crazy freestyle tricks, and catching some major air on dirt jumps. They're also great for commuting and just messing around in the streets.

BMX has a lot of perks too. It's super affordable, easy to carry around, and pretty simple to work on. This makes it a great option for riders who don't want to break the bank or have limited space, like those living in apartments.

However, there are a few drawbacks. BMX bikes are made for smooth surfaces, so you might have a rough time if you're trying to ride on bumpy trails. They also don't have suspension, so you'll feel every little bump and rock.

But overall, BMX is a rad and accessible sport that can provide hours of fun and excitement. If you're looking for a new way to get your adrenaline fix, give BMX a try!

On the flip side, mountain bikes are like the ultimate all-rounders. With their wheels ranging from 26 to 29 inches and a robust build designed for durability and stability, these bikes can handle almost anything you throw at them.

MTB bikes are great for trail riding, commuting, street riding, and just exploring. They have a suspension system that makes them super comfy on rough terrain, and their big wheels give you extra traction and stability.

But there are a few downsides too. MTB bikes are usually more expensive and heavier than BMX bikes, so they can be a bit harder to transport and maneuver. And because they're a bit more complex, they can be trickier to maintain and repair.
So, which type of bike is better, BMX or MTB? The answer to this question depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you are looking for an affordable, portable, and versatile bike that is great for racing, riding in the street, and dirt jumping, then BMX is a great option. If you are looking for a bike that can be used for a wider variety of purposes, including trail riding, commuting, and exploring then MTB is a better choice. As always my name is Ben and this is bad bikes and I will see you in the next video. God bless!

You haven't lived until you have done downhill on a BMX. Just have 2 brakes and you are golden. It's gnarly man. Most fun you'll have off-road

Great comparison video. Explained it well. Easy to understand. Nice music choices as well. Thanks.

Uh, BMX were NOT built for smooth surfaces. Bicycle MotoCross. They were literally designed to be a kid version of racing dirt bikes. And that's how we rode them back in the day. MTB is the result of guys outgrowing their BMXs and wanting something bigger to play in the dirt.

As to which is better- neither. BMX is too small for many and MTB still uses stupid road bike geometry for most versions. The "ideal" would be BMX geometry at MTB scale. So 29" wheels on a lower, longer frame. Definitely multiple gears, but maybe not 12+ like many MTB.

I have both but I think I like my bmx better. Simple, affordable, low-maintenance and lots of fun to ride, even around town. I’ve even done 20 mile rides on my bmx before. It’s tough but not impossible (as long as there’s not too many hills)

All in all great vid, I even subscribed ❤( wholesome guy) I have several bikes lol and truly MTB and BMX are very different from each other....but I find myself using BMX alot mainly because I practice and perform stunts plus its cool and fresh...not that a guy cant perform stunts on a mountain bike....its just that BMX is more lighter as you said and more dynamic

I recently got a mountain bike ( for context it’s a Huffy Trail Bike I believe, it was chosen kinda randomly at Walmart ) I just needed A Bike, because I plan on doing DoorDash on my bike as a lil side hustle and was told a mountain bike would be better just in case I have to go up hills or something around the city. But now I’m not sure whether to keep it or save for a BMX bike instead because BMX bikes are supposed to be faster or at least potentially faster on paved roads ( Mountain bikes cap out at like 12 mph while BMX bikes are more capable of going closer to 15-20+ from what I’ve looked up ) does anyone know what type of bike would be a good balance, to use for commuting and deliveries but also be as fast as possible, or should I be fine

Bmx are more.compact than mtb and its easy to carry than mtb. While mtb has a high cost of maintenance than bmx. Look we all know how robust and durable the bmx than mtb. And bmx are more agile than mtb
