The 430hp power figures are only the electric motor power, if the motor assisted it would be even higher. The motor comes on to reduce maximum draw on the battery by running the generator if you floor it. So even if batteries at 80% and you smash the accelerator to the floor the generator starts to keep draw load at a near normal level.

After seeing comments about the pricing in Aussie, was picking it would be around $69k here, so no surprises there. Nevertheless, great price. Looking forward to seeing one in person.

BYD Makes Its Own Batteries. They Should Be Able To Price Them Cheaper

Thats actually cheaper than I was expecting, and the range means that 99% of my driving would be done completely off solar to boot- thats making my my next purchase look like it might be the Shark instead of the Atto.... (its actually cheaper than the Hilux I was briefly considering, but I really want to go EV lol fuels too expensive here in rural Australia to really consider staying fulltime petrol or diesel)

Your the first one I’ve found and watched that’s taken the car on sand. Gee I wish you took it on soft sand. That’s my make or break!

Great review and the Shark looks good as well.
Question: How well are the battery, electronics, electric motors protected against water, especially sea water and whats the wading depth?

Will the car charge the battery back up while driving?

Since you mentioned ranger raptor, how does it compare? Esp to the 2.0 model since that's the only one we have here. Thanks

Can you wade one of these? If so, how deep?

I would have ordered one if it was 10k cheaper. I'll now wait to see what Toyota and Ford will do.

Can you find out how much battery replacement is after 8yrs? When they start to not hold charge. That there will contribute/ determine the resale value. The old dinosaur diesels just keep on driving.

Not sure how salt water, batteries, beach sand and metal will go.

Why is the tray Power Point so far back? It'll be way more useful if it was located next to the tail gate
