How to open STEP in FreeCAD - Import and Export STEP file

FreeCAD is a parametric 3D CAD system and is completely free, but this does not mean that it cannot work with other, even paid, CAD/CAM systems.
FreeCAD can be used commercially and its great advantage is the support for STEP files.
You can open STEP files in FreeCAD and you can save models created in FreeCAD in STEP format.
And the STEP format is a universal format for data exchange between CAD/CAM systems and many CAD/CAM systems support this format.
