More important bit of info is mounting the plate to the boat: like screw size, head type, thickness of the hull, material of the hull, positioning for top rail support, etc. For an aluminum boat will there be screws and nuts sticking out the side? Need method for mounting to a sloped gunnel, like backing material. A lot of info needed here.

why do the demonstrate the 1025 bracket on a smooth 90degree gunnel when i called they said it was for narrow uneven gunnels i am mounting it on a 14' aluminium boat are you suppose to drill through tyhe side of the boat and bolt it on
