Physics Tutorial Speed and Calculation Exercises

This is a basic physics tutorial that is targeted at GCSE (grade 9 and grade 10) standard.

When a person, car or object moves, you can calculate its average speed if you know how far it has traveled, and how long it took by using the following calculation:

average speed = distance / time

Typically in scientific calculations we report average speed in metres / second (m/s), but you can also calculate it as km / hr, or miles / hr.

You can turn the subtitles / captions on and off as you please, using the button in the bottom right hand corner.
