I totally agree with it being a bit ridiculous about the screen turning off when you connect the hdmi. It would be nice if you could at least get the screen out of the way.

My friend just bought the X1C and it's freaking amazing. He's only had it a few weeks though. Elegoo is releasing an X1C equivalent.

I'm definitely pro laser :) You have a lot of 3d skills, but there's something to being able to draw something in 2D and hold it in your hand a few minutes later. You need to get on that Creality laser gravy train that the other creators on. For 10 years, there weren't many options between the K40 and the big laser cutters. Now there is kind of a unit for nearly every size and budget. I do think you'd want something more than a 12x8 k40.

Sorry this is late, just been binging your podcasts at work and really enjoy your content.

Just wanted to throw my 2¢ in for an all in one soldering station to look out for. At my previous work we had 2 aoyue 888A+ that lasted about 10 years (1 still kicking after I left). these are 3 in 1 (soldering iron, smoke absorber, and hot air). I recommend the brand, so try checking out the Aoyue int 2702A+. It's a 4in1 and I think would suit your needs really well, and better than most of the Chinese rebrands on Amazon.
