A girl almost drowned on the Salt River in May, but thanks to Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Lake Patrol, she was saved. However, as seen in the exclusive bodycam video, the path to get to her, as well as getting out of the river, was blocked by tubers and kayakers.

Hey y’all, my name is Carley and i’m the girl in the video. This was 3 years ago. I’m now 21 so looking back on this is absolutely insane. Thank you all so much for the positive comments . and to everyone calling the cops “pigs” need to get a life. Those “pigs” saved my life. The reason why my brother couldn’t get on the boat was 1.) because he was very intoxicated and could’ve got in the way of the deputies doing their job and 2.) that boat is very tiny. Imagine how my brother would’ve reacted if they allowed him on that boat and saw them perform cpr on me not once, but twice. He would’ve freaked out and most likely would’ve got in the way. So please shush. If it weren’t for the deputies quick response time and fast acting i wouldn’t be here today.

The guy in the wetsuit jumped into action and held the boat for them was the MVP. Good for him. Obviously will go far in life with an attitude like that.

Respect to the men who saved this women’s life! Shame on the person flipping them off! I’ve been down this river many times. People get stupid & reckless out there. I’m SSOO thankful for the sheriffs department being there ready to take action.

The officers not letting the guy on the boat was right thing to do. He was out of it and put the rescue team in danger and their focus and attention on the girl.

I also give all the credit to the first responders but the young man in the black wetsuit did something that was heroic with it being something so small that he might not even realize, but jumping into the water and holding that boat without being asked shows this young man had great awareness and help greatly with this situation

Please let this serve as a lesson to everyone - when on the River, it is hot AF and you will be there for hours. CAREFUL how much you drink.

I've floated down that river many a times. That airboat hardly makes wake. Plus it's pretty hard to get around in those tubes. So you put yourself in the current and just float. Those men do an amazing job rescuing people.

These guys are absolute professionals. They comfort her the entire time and they never NEVER let up. As an advanced deep water rescuer, I am so happy to know these guys are out there. I used to pull people out of rushing rivers, and then turn them over to guys like these who did everything to stabilize the person, who was in shock. I never saw how they got the people who I pulled out of the river to the Hospital. It is their dedication that truly saves lives.

Young men and women need to learn the basics of CPR in high school. I know this seems an out-of-pocket response, but the hopelessness of the look on the young mans face wiping tears from his eyes fearing he lost a friend was gut wrenching. Thank the rapid and professional response of Maricopa County Sheriffs for saving this young girl’s life. Thank all our first responders for taking up the responsibility of keeping us safe and saving lives.

Well done guys, I worked for 10 years on this very river for the Medical Rescue Posse, brings back memories, a very challenging environment, all day long this can go on, from one medical incident to another, until the sun goes down. Again well done

My heart was hurting so badly for her brother. That’s one helluva brother to have right there. I hope she recovered well & is thriving.

Carley, I am thrilled to hear you fully recovered. It was difficult to watch that footage - hoping like hell you were going to be OK. Know that as we watched we were all pulling for you. Well, 99% of us. Those officers did a wonderful job rushing you to medical help. I am sure you have contacted them with thanks. What your brother did was 100% normal and expected. Stay well.

She stopped breathing at least twice…that’s crazy to see. They don’t do chest compressions on breathing people. Good job, guy’s 👍🏽

Watching this gave me anxiety and I was on the verge of tears knowing someone needed rescuing and seeing the challenge of getting around all those floaters. It seemed to take forever to reach her. Outstanding job by those water rescue men! From the comments, it sounds like the young girl recovered. Good news! 🙏
