Description: Male Cardinal Sings His Heart Out! Ocala, Florida, Mar. 18, 2014
This cardinal was first heard near my front porch flowers (See last clip). I did not see him at first, he was only perhaps no more than 6 feet away when I first started taking video. He sings a variety of songs-apparently calling to or for a mate. It appears he did get a response if you listen closely. Enjoy!

I just whistled back and forth with a male Cardinal on my back fence this morning. Beautiful birds. Thanks for the nice video!

That is really nice. I played this on my front porch and sat 20 feet away and it actually brought a cardinal to my deck rail.

In central florida and saw a cardinal the other day doing little chirps in a grove of palm trees next to my semi truck. Like 8 feet away, landing on my mirror and looking in. Surprised at how how aware and curious it was, also smaller than then I imagined it they would be. Then this morning same parking spot I heard a bird singing very loud and it sounded exotic almost.
Didn’t know know what it was though then ines walking nearby later in the day and I heard it again and saw a red bird high up in a tree. Was hard to tell exactly and seemed larger but was making a lot of of one of these sounds in video and is also the “exotic” sound I was hearing earlier in in day. Wonderful

You're lucky! We lived in ocala for a few years down from the Sheriff's dept off of 30th Ave and never saw anything but those darn blackbirds and wild turkeys lol😂

We still place a pretend cardinal in our Christmas tree as our mom always did, before she passed. Her favorite bird.

Gorgeous little birds of God. :)

I remember one day I was sitting on the front gallery and I heard one chirping a block away, and I started to mimic its song. It flew around to my block and stood on a power line and we had a small chirping conversation. xD It was so cute

My two favorite birds are Cardinals and Robins. Their songs are so peaceful. Always reminds me of Spring.

It's hilarious when you whistle back to them and they go "No how bout this combination?" and go from like 2 to 6 chirps lol

Thanks for sharing. We have a male Cardinal in our neighborhood and he is doing these chirping noises right this moment. I enjoy hearing in the morning and evening. When I was little girl I used to call them red jays. Made sense to me since there is blue jays. 😂

Cardinals and Robins are my favorite birds. They make me happy. I grew up in Wisconsin, and when the first Robins appeared in the backyard, it meant that Spring was approaching, and it was tone to take down the storm windows to the back yard. But as soon as we did, this Robin couple built their nest above the floodlights, so we couldn’t go out the back way, haha. Had to let them do their thing.

We have Robins down here in Texas, too. They’re very quiet. Cardinals and Robins are very sociable little birds. The Cardinals sing just before the sun comes up, and as the sun is starting to go down. At least, that’s when they’re most active. And their songs are completely different from the ones shown here.

I had to sell my sweet, little Home that became over the years a Bird Sanctuary. I had a very quiet corner lot with Cherry Trees, Japanese Maples, Hemlocks & many large bushes that created a safe refuge for so many Songbirds. Over the years I learned the many different tones & tunes as the Birds kept me company while I weeded the gardens or other chores around the house. I miss them all terribly & often come on Youtube just to hear them sing again.

Just saw a cardinal out front of the house in a tree and randomly Googled “Female Cardinal Singing” and this came up…..stood in the driveway and played it through the phone - got FOUR female cardinals diving through the area and perching in the trees nearby!! Love it!!! 👍🏾❤

I love these cardinals. I hear their wonderful music a lot around my neighborhood since moving two years ago to the East Coast. It is just now I've found out their name and how they look like. How beautiful! They are now one of my favorite birds including the yellow-naped amazon
