TANDAVAM - Rishab Rikhiram Sharma (Live in Nepal) | Shiva Tandava Strotram [Out Now!]

On the occasion of Mahakumbh 2025 presenting:
Tandavam aka 'The Shiv Tandav Stotram', attributed to Ravana, glorifies Lord Shiva's cosmic dance of Tandav, symbolizing creation, preservation, and destruction. Through 16 rhythmic verses, it vividly describes Shiva's divine form, adorned with matted locks, ash, serpents, and the crescent moon, while invoking his boundless grace and power. Chanting this hymn is believed to bestow mental peace, strength, and spiritual liberation.

Rishab covers 4 of these 16 verses in his performance of Tandavam, available to stream on all digital platfroms.

Verse 1:
Jatatavigalajjala pravahapavitasthale
Galeavalambya lambitam bhujangatungamalikam
Damad damad damaddama ninadavadamarvayam
Chakara chandtandavam tanotu nah shivah shivam

With his neck consecrated by the flow of water that flows from his hair,
And on his neck a snake, which is hung like a garland,
And the Damaru drum that emits the sound "Damat Damat Damat Damat",
Lord Shiva did the auspicious dance of Tandava. May he give prosperity to all of us.

Verse 2:
Jata kata hasambhrama bhramanilimpanirjhari
Vilolavichivalarai virajamanamurdhani
Dhagadhagadhagajjva lalalata pattapavake
Kishora chandrashekhare ratih pratikshanam mama

I have a deep interest in Shiva
Whose head is glorified by the rows of moving waves of the celestial Ganga river,
Which stir in the deep well of his hair in tangled locks.
Who has the brilliant fire burning on the surface of his forehead,
And who has the crescent moon as a jewel on his head.

Verse 3:
Dharadharendrana ndinivilasabandhubandhura
Sphuradigantasantati pramodamanamanase
Krupakatakshadhorani nirudhadurdharapadi
Kvachidigambare manovinodametuvastuni

May my mind seek happiness in Lord Shiva,
In whose mind all the living beings of the glorious universe exist,
Who is the companion of Parvati (daughter of the mountain king),
Who controls unsurpassed adversity with his compassionate gaze, Which is all-pervading
And who wears the Heavens as his raiment.

Verse 4:
Jata bhujan gapingala sphuratphanamaniprabha
Kadambakunkuma dravapralipta digvadhumukhe
Madandha sindhu rasphuratvagutariyamedure
Mano vinodamadbhutam bibhartu bhutabhartari

May I find wonderful pleasure in Lord Shiva, who is the advocate of all life,
With his creeping snake with its reddish brown hood and the shine of its gem on it
Spreading variegated colors on the beautiful faces of the Goddesses of the Directions,
Which is covered by a shimmering shawl made from the skin of a huge, inebriated elephant.

Rishab holds the distinction of being the first artist to perform a concert at the historic Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

I kept avoiding this guy for about 6 months, he was all over my youtube feed and I skipped every time. Its been 4 days ever since I clicked his first video. I was mindblown by the fact that he is student of Ravi Shankar. The music is good and everything but real shocker was hearing his voice. My jaw dropped when I heard this, at first I thought he was lip syncing coz he cant be this good, there is no way. There I listened to all his music that was possible in 4 days. I am just in Awe. He is beautiful human, very good looking, the dressing sense is so elegant, all the jewelry, the mehendi on the hands, the smile, the way he enjoys his own music and the swag is just.... I never ever thought listening to Tandava strortam in a concert and it would wake up every cells in my body. This man looks divine himself. For me, he is Devi Matangi herself, enjoying music, loving attention, healing all of us little everyday. This tandav on heaphone alone is full volume took me whole different realm.
