I've heard this is the final test for SNL hopefuls. There is no crowd. Its a quiet room. You have to impress Lorne and the highest ups on the show with your own material. The people you are auditioning for generally don't laugh, and and are trying not to, making things even more nerve wracking.

If you get laughs during these auditions, you're crushing it.
