Hey, physics major with an emphasis is astrophysics, retrograde means the “apparent backwards movement of a star or planet”. So from night to night Mercury is suppose to move from east to west in the night sky. Sometimes is looks like mercury is traveling from west to east. What is actually happening is that the Earth is passing Mercury. Like when you pass someone on the highway they look that like are falling backwards from you even though you are both moving in the same direction, you’re just traveling faster. Same idea happens to the planets during their orbits.

Julian day refers to timekeeping according to the Julian calendar created by Julius Ceasar. Our current calendar is the Gregorian calendar created by Pope GregoryXIII. The Gregorian Callander added leap years to mitigate seasonal drift since each year is actually about 365.25 days long. Without leap years slowly our seasons would begin shifting when they start and end on the callendar.

The Ascendent is the personality and more so personally you
Mercury is the way you communicate

The planets go into certain houses and the houses describe certain aspects of your life. Like the 7th house is about partnerships.

The time you were born figures out your ascending sign and which planets land in which of the 12 houses.

P.S. When Mercury goes retrograde, challenges with thinking and communicating in a linear or direct way and delays with traveling and commuting can come up. 💖💖💖

I fee like people who are into astrology aren’t the type to go off their horoscope tbh lol that’s probably more of an assumption. I generally use my natal chart to self reflect on myself and how I act. It’s almost like a journal. And the planets moving through different signs and houses is something to reflect on while going through life. I don’t check everyday all the time but it’s something I go to when feeling down. Just another form of self care honestly

It's super interesting how often Cristine said things like, "this could apply to anyone" or "that's just (assumed universal truth)" as I was actively thinking "this couldn't apply to me at all". Admittedly I am an astrology person but also try to be critical where possible of the things that really could apply to anyone.
