A long time ago, in a galaxy not so far away, the infamous Sith lord Darth Vader was sent by Emperor Palpatine to a strange planet, newly discovered, to establish a base there. Hovering over a tropical sea, the Sith lord noticed a strange vessel in the water, half destroyed. He commanded the pilot to get him closer. Stepping out of his transport, he began to explore this odd vessel, obviously designed for long voyages on the sea. The vessel looked old, very old. Barnacles and lichen covered nearly every surface, as if the forsaken vessel had been under the water for thousands of years, and had only recently resurfaced. Striding through the seemingly abandoned vessel, he discovered what was obviously the commander's quarters. There was a massive organ that looked, unlike the rest of the ship, for he had decided it was a ship, well taken care of. Sitting on the organ was a small music box in the shape of a clam. Vader was not typically curious. But there was something about this music box that seemed so... familiar. Through the Force, Vader sensed pain and anger emanating through the music box. Thousands of years worth of betrayal. He picked up the music box and wound it up. Its tune was quiet, and short, but it was the most bittersweet thing he'd heard. It made him think of his beloved Padme, his lost children, and his betrayal of his master and brother, Obi-Wan. After the tune ended, he heard a slow, irregular thud-clunk, thud-clunk, thud-clunk behind him. Turning around, he came face to face with the most horrid... *thing* he'd ever seen. The half-human, seemingly half-octopus creature lit a pipe, took a puff, and then fixed its cold eyes on Vader. Eyes that had seen so much torment and death. It was a look Vader knew well, for he saw it in himself every time he took off his mask. After a brief moment of silence in which the two beings studied each other and recognized the power they each held, the pain they shared, the sea creature opened its mouth to utter one statement and one question.

"I've heard of your kind, though I thought you a myth. Tell me, Sith lord, do you feah death?"

After listening to this, I realized the parallels between Vader and Jones and, honestly, I can't imagine a more appropriate mashup.

Both Vader and Jones began their falls from glory because of their love for someone - giving up so much in order to ensure that they could be with the one they loved - and were finally tipped over the edge by the misperception that, despite all their hard work, their loves had betrayed them. Feeling such a terrible pain from this, they both then proceeded to betray their loves as well. But in spite of everything, neither Vader nor Jones stopped loving them, and they never stopped feeling the pain of losing them, which only served to push them both further into damnation...
