In July 2022, my family and I visited the Flight 93 National Memorial Park in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. I was definitely looking forward to going but as we arrived the tone got quiet and anger reared its head. Frankly, I'm glad it did. We can not visit these memorials (including Ground Zero in New York) and feel nothing. I will let this short speak for itself. It includes all 40 names and pictures of the heroes who rolled. God bless them all for their courage and bravery!

I visited there today. The flight path walk was lovely but sad. On the walk it shows the different flights. If you can’t find flight 93 go down to the gate to the crash site and you will see it there past the gate. The tower of voices was so pretty and the song it made, it made me so sad to hear.
The museum was amazing. It was very interesting to learn about UA93. I cried multiple times knowing the sacrifices they made for our country. God bless their souls.

I’d like to visit there someday.

I was taking Intensive English Program at Texas Tech then(Sorry, my English is still not good).

I heard there were two foreigners among those 40 brave people.
One is from Germany. Most people there speak good English.
It’s very difficult to master English for Japanese people mainly because structure of Japanese language is too different. Even those whose English is much better than average here don’t understand if you don’t speak slowly or clearly.
The other passengers must scream in fear or whisper so that the terrorists wouldn't hear them. 久下 季哉(Toshiya Kuge) must not understand what’s going on. I can’t imagine how horrible he felt.

While I studied at Texas Tech, I noticed funny truth that Japanese people don’t want to admit…Baseball isn’t popular as much as football.
We Japanese people want to believe that we are the best in the world at the sports which Americans also passionately love.

Toshiya was one of very few Japanese people who liked playing football.
He wanted to transfer to an American university. I'm sure he wanted to enjoy playing football there with his American friends.
He studied engineering at Japanese most prestigious private university.
I wonder what kind of bright future was waiting for him 😔
