From the 2006 album by Linda Ronstadt & Ann Savoy - Adieu False Heart - a superb cover of "Walk Away Renee." Gorgeous harmony. The song, written by Michael Brown, Bob Calilli, Tony Sansone, was recorded by The Left Banke in 1966. It was also a hit for the Four Tops in 1968. I think this is a painfully beautiful song. It has been covered by dozens of artists; one of my favorite covers is by Jimmy LaFave.

One of the most beautiful duets I can recall hearing in my 72 yrs. I truly miss Linda's voice and harmonies.

And RIP Steve Martin Caro the 16 year old kid with perfect pitch that sang the song in 1966, who passed in 2020. Where has the time gone.

I'll dig her for ever. And that's a long long time.

Linda sings 1st and 2nd verse, Ann the third. Amazingly, Linda recorded this album after her voice started giving her problems due to her health. This album got critical acclaim and 2 Grammy noms.

Linda Ronstadt is the greatest, most diverse female vocalist of her generation.

Amazing how Linda could take any song and make it her own. Great rendition of this timeless classic!

I consider this song to be one of the very greatest of the 1960s, alongside the work of the very best. It is so fragile that you lean into it, and so guttingly poignant that your heart breaks before you know you're sad.

Great classic song from 1966. Brings back many fond memories of my much younger years. Those were simpler and more carefree times. Good friends and good times. And we got along just fine without cell phones and computers.
RIP Steve Caro. THis song that you wrote will always live on.

Linda can cover just about any song. Her hidden talent is that she can pick the best material and make subtle changes that make it hers and it adds to the song not taking anything away from it. We will never tire of hearing her voice. She blends so well with others.

Nothing beats the original Left Banke version but this is a close second in my world. It is from one of Linda Ronstadt's later releases, well after the hits stopped coming, so some of you may not have heard this touching rendition before. I applaud the fact that she doesn't mind giving equal billing to a relative unknown artist. No one of her stature does that.

I love the way Savoy and Ronstadt seamlessly trade melody and harmony in this song, awesome!

The album is fantastic. Linda still has THE VOICE --- the years have not diminished her at ALL. Lovely.

I'd loved her music since her days with the Stone Poneys, and it's one of the highlights of my life that I got to meet her when our concert committee booked her and Jackson Browne on one show when I was at Cal Poly. I remember her as being easy to talk to, very down to earth. My buddy Bob was the chairman of the concert committee and I was vice-chair. We both loved both artists and were overjoyed when he got them booked. Their managers were overjoyed too because they decided to make us the first stop on a tour. We always asked the artists to attend our after-party. Usually it was Bob who did the inviting (rank hath its privilege) but Bob was too in awe of her to speak to her, so I got to do it. A day or so before the performance, she had twisted her ankle and had to sing sitting down. So, when I asked her to the party, she said she would have loved to go, but had to get off her ankle. I had told her the party was at Bob's house. She said - oh is he that cute guy with red hair?" I said, yes that was him. We talked all the way till she had to go on stage for sound check. I then went and found Bob who was downstairs doing something. When I told him what Linda said, I will never forget, with his back to the wall, he literally melted down to the floor. "Linda Ronstadt thinks I'm cute?" Well, I certainly would have preferred if she told me that I was, but it's stil a great memory and a story to relate every so often....

I love this Left Banke song and realy enjoyed this version. I had a good friend who recently passed away that was a piano tuner for Linda Ronstadt and her band back in the day. He said that not only was she an incredible talent that wowed audiences night after night, but she was the nicest person you would ever want to
