Gbenga Akinfenwa - Iba ft. Olayiwola Jagun

It was a little after 3am. While in prayer I heard what seemed like a passing procession of 'beings' whisper these words 'Tooto Ola re Iba'. This is not an expression I'm used to, and I can't adequately explain the worship and divine interaction that followed. This recording is our heartfelt, albeit inadequate re-enactment of what goes around the throne. Endless worship, angels crying one to another 'Holy, Holy Holy'.
As you bask in this sounds, may your heavens be opened. May your eyes be opened. May you 'see' God!

From 1999 in South Africa when I first heard a Yoruba song I fell in love with the language and upon searching my roots I discovered that Xhosa’s are derived from the Yoruba tribe hence we praise and do things similar.what a great rendition of this song.

The unction from this song is palpable, I can’t begin to imagine what it was like for those present physically. God bless you sir for sharing this amazing worship with the world.

The Yoruba in me wants to correct your translation of the word ‘Iba’. Iba, is an act of obeisance used for God and kings and it means to ‘Reverence’ or ‘Worship’ . It is done in a prostrated position with the head to the ground.

Hope the explanation will help non- speakers to better understand and flow with this awesome worship song.
