The term 'chicken tractor' came from using long, narrow pens to allow chickens to eat the weeds & bugs between garden rows - while scratching through the dirt, turning it up like a cultivator. Guess rabbits might dig up the soil in a garden, too, but don't know anyone who ever tried it. Nice video- good job spreading the word that rabbits can eat their natural food! But must be moved at least daily. Keep up the good work.

I know that it seems harsh, but it is far more humane, ethical, and safe than the way they raise commercial animals for the meat market, IMO.

I made a small run for a guinea pig, a wild rabbit would come and sit next to it for several hours at a time.Don't know if the rabbit was lonely or just curious, but it was fun to watch.

S Clark... Our Californians dug out from time to time, and they are hard to catch. The next rabbit tractor I build will have a bottom. Check out Joel Salatin's rabbit tractor. It looks escape-proof.

can they live off 100% mostly grass without pellets? or you need to give them more greens like turnips and things like that?

You are wise to be cautious. Rabbits can die if not transitioned gradually.

Great rabbit tractor! Yes I would move them a few times a day so they don't ruin the grass. Do you have wire on the bottom? If not have they ever tried to burrow out?

I'd be interested in seeing an update on those rabbits. How does your yard look now? How long does it take the grass to grow back to where they could graze it again? And if I'm thinking of making a rabbit tractor, how many square feet of grass per day should I plan per rabbit (i.e. how big must I build my pen)?
