This is legit the average early 2000s European hatchback. 1.6l, 100 hp, 5 speed manual transmission, silver with grey cloth interior and steel wheels with OEM hubcaps.

96 horsepower and 150 foot pounds of torque for any Americans watching this

My mum always had 206s and while I've never liked them (soggy handling, vague gearbox and my foot clipped the brake everytime I used the clutch) they were actually 100% reliable. Never a single problem except the 1 I put through a wall!

I've recently bought a 206 1.4 as my first car. Such a nice experience. I just love every part of it

72.3kw and 202 nm of torque. Total guess though.

Kinda sad you're making fun of these cars. They're insanely reliable and if you would've gotten the GTI 180/S16 Version, it would be a riot to drive. Also the 306 S16 with 163hp and 6 speed were massively underrated hot hatches that lived up to the 205 GTI's hype but were kind of underdogs of their time.

It made way more than I predicted, I was surprised.

The only thing missing is the oil pressure light.

My dad had an exact one like in this video. Silver with that blue on black interior. It was INSANELY reliable. We sadly sold it at 490k km's.
Its a hell of a fun car to own

very similar specs to the mk4 fiesta zetec s. I think a lot of cars like this are overlooked and underestimated because of their low power figures and out dated looks but having owned an original mk4 fiesta 1.2 and seeing the ammount of mods you can do, these cars are truly the stuff of dreams for someone getting into the modified car scene.

With just a few hundered spent, I stripped weight, put on coilovers and grippier tyres and managed to swap over to a mk1 focus 1.6 in just a weekend with my dad and it made us both smile with it's mad burnouts and gokart like handling and it is so much more fun to drive than my 200hp boat of an audi. Always look to higher end OEM components as they can give you insane price/performance for these older cars as many manufacturers re-use so many parts (the 1.6 from the 1999 zetec S is the same platform used in the mk6 ST for example).

Can't wait to see what you guys do with these nuggets, especially if you two are planning on keeping to a budget which makes you get creative.

The old french cars were crazy reliable, since the 2000' they are reliable but since the past 10 years you need to be carefull with them

My xsara with the legendary 1.4i 75hp kfx is still rocking to this day, 24 years old, 0 problems and relatively low fuel consumption, sold it to a friend and still on the road like new

I have a citroen and a Volvo now, but I've also had other psa cars (peugeot). I can guarantee that I've never even had 10% of the problems with the citroens and peugeots comparing to the Volvo.

Yeah that's just the old TUJP 8v engine, I had a saxo running on that for a while.

These days it's the 1.6 TUJP 16v turbo, can fetch beyond 200 BHP easily.

Remember people. Just because it doesn’t have a lot of power doesn’t mean it’s quick, the power to weight ratio is crucial which is a perfect reason I got a Peugeot 405 mi16
