This video is about verb complementation: what can you put after a verb? Verbs take different complements: here are three - want, need and would like - which can be followed by an object and an infinitive, or just an infinitive.

This video is available with captions, translation in your language (beta) and in high definition.

Respected sir, being unarguably the finest mind in the field of English grammar, you are earnestly entreated with folded hands to enlighten me a tad as to whether the following sentence is grammatically correct or not.The sentence -He believed me to do the job/He believed me to have done the job.

Great help! This pattern is very difficult for Spanish speakers to acquire. We tend to go for the 'that' clause. Thanks!

Neither of my sibblings believed me that this grammar existed. They thought I was wrong, but I knew I was right since I found it in many readings and was able to learn it on my own. Now that I've found this video I can tell them the name of the grammar and the examples.
