It is worth the 5 second install. Adds so much character to your Steam Deck.

It is truly random, and I've had the same gameboy boot logo 4 times in a row (I had 11 boot animations at the time). That is statistically unlikely, but possible.

I'm hoping for an update that plays a random animation once each boot, then puts that animation to the back of potential playlist.

My SteamDeck is supposed to arrive today! This video came just in time, I am so excited to customize everything! I remember loading custom boot animations on my Android, and long before that custom boot BMPs in Windows 9X! Hopefully I can download and install these in "one fell swoop" and not "one fail swoop."

Edit: Steam Deck arrived actually Wednesday despite FedEx inability to follow instructions. Luckily we had a slow time at work and I was able to rush home in a Lyft and nab it because the box is not at all disguised as what it is inside. The model and name of it are on the frigging shipping label, and I mean it's titled Valve Corporation for the address so be warned.

Okay I can confirm that after installation via the first method you can delete and add other webm boot screens by simply dragging and dropping into the deck start up folder via home/hombrew/start up animations/deck start up . This is good for those that keep asking to randomize yet also want to make and add more custom ones
