A bag of Doritos bbq flavor, 170 grams, is €2, 29 in the Netherlands.

I am 52 year old Dutch guy.

Now, 1 month worth of groceries for a family of 4 costs around €700, -
And that doesn't include any fancy stuff like fish, steak.

Many items in the US have increased in price. Especially food from fast food restaurants and the so called "dollar stores".

A "Party Size" bag of Doritos (14.5oz) here in South Texas runs about $6 USD currently (917 yen). A "big" bag (9.5oz) is currently on sale at my local walmart for $3 USD (458 yen). The "small" bag (2.75oz) is $2.47 USD (377 yen). ...It makes so little sense lol. Prices everywhere feel insane right now. For another example, a 6 count pack of pepsi (16.9 oz) is currently $5 USD (764 yen)!

I'm not sure about wages in Japan, but here in the US, most of these items cost at least 2x as much and our wages are not high enough to make them affordable. The 65 cent Pepsi would cost $2-2.5 at most places. $1.5 on sale.
I'd roughly estimate that that ¥4580 meal would be easily ¥10500 or more in the US. That's more than half of my daily income.
TLDR, it's pretty rough here too

I have to buy in bulk (bigger amount) to save money. 4L of regular homo milk costs $6, a loaf of bread similar to what you showed costs $3.95, I only buy things when they are on sale. The price of your food is heavenly.

I went to Japan in January and can't wait to get back there! I absolutely LOVE your channel (subscribed)! Keep the content coming! Btw, it was VERY hard for me to find Pepsi over there! I only got to have it once, the rest of the time it was coke, or the "coffee boss" who seemed to be in cahoots with coke! I'd like to rip his mustache off!!! Lol. Ty for the upload dude!

Hi!!! Here in Portugal, when we switched from our currency (Escudo) to the Euro, the cost of living doubled and salaries remained the same. It was a slap in the face. Kisses from Portugal

How's the cost of housing in Japan? In Ohio, my apartment rent increased by $300 over the past four years. Expensive food bothers me less than rent which you can't control. You can always eat cheaper food or cook homemade.

Your Doritos sound much crunchier than ours in the US

Hi, I’m from İstanbul, first of all We really love Japanese people as a Turkish people and I watched your some videos I really understand you. Cost of living in İstanbul still very good for example bread $0.40 cent, milk $0.85, doritos $1.1, pepsi not even $1 because most of the well known factories are here and goes to europe and asia I can definetly suggest you can come and live in İstanbul easly the only our people’s problem consumer society, also We believe every problem has a solution that’s why don’t worry man everything is gonna be perfect 👍

I used to live in Japan until a couple of years ago. I remember the milk you showed used to cost around 150 yen and not 220. The bread costed around 120-130 yen and not 190. Crazy!
