Interesting 🤔 I’m not sure I’m going to do it, but it’s nice to know I could.

Actually I have a question that is I follow the work flow of CLA he does use a Bell curve on the 8k and uses a compressor like 3A or 1176 on his vocals or guitars to compress and I tried that so on my tracks and I felt that more I gain up the 8k it started compressing more on the 8k and boost up the lower frequencies like 6k to 200 so can you explain it briefly because I am bit confused with this.

Any suggestions on whether 320kbps mp3s of tracks whose project files are currently inaccessible, which have amateur "mastering" chain on the mix bus, are salvageable? Maybe thru dithering and SpectraLayers (which I don't have yet since my studio is down, tho I do have RX7)? And a #lofi tag, lol. I have a whole back catalog of tracks from the backwards and sideways self education I've developed. Once I have a working studio PC I have this whole channel queued up to get me started (only had cubase about a year before I didn't have a studio set up and now that PC runs hot and unstable). Any thoughts or video suggestions would be much appreciated. I know an mp3 with mix bus processing is like anathema to mastering, lol.

(If one really can't afford a mastering engineer, but is good at mixing, can it be got away with to some degree, to master while mixing? Or is that blasphemy? "Growing up" I was just learning from software interfaces so I got to where I was still gain staging while putting on the final touches, a very all over the place way of mixing, so i don't know if i ever pulled it off or if my ears are biased one way or the other.) Anyway you can see why I subbed to your channel.

What about Top-down mixing though? Do you toggle the limiter on periodically or leave it on and remove it prior to mastering?
