I'm Honeysmack, a live Acid Techno artist, producer, performer, and music technologist from Melbourne, Australia. My name is Dr. David Haberfeld. As an improviser and academic, I've been creating electronic music since the early 1990s. Yes, I even completed a PhD in Acid Techno! I have worked and helped some of the biggest names in dance music, and as an academic I've taught at universities from Australia to north America and Asia. I can provide unique insight and approach to making electronic music that does not require any prior knowledge or formal music education - if you're ready to be challenged creatively in new and exciting ways, I can help. Think of it as therapy for techno creatives and synth heads or anyone who loves the TB-303 and wants to hang-out.

PhD in Acid Techno? Woah. What have I been doing with my life!

I thought about doing this at one point... Not just acid house but urban music lessons in general. Then I realized that anybody with an interest in such a thing would already be watching Youtube videos, they would know DJ's in real life in their area, and they probably would already own gear. Would you cover music theory in general (which can be applied to any genre), or would your course just include production tips specific to dance music and x0x derived devices? How would you tailor your course to someone with no music theory background, to catch them up?
