"Have you seen a talking flower?"

At that point I'd totally forgotten about Flowey and this gave me chills.

The timing of this is phenomenal. At this point, players have largely forgotten Flowey. They've gotten caught up in the joyful world of Snowdin and the quirky Skeleton Brothers. Then they're reminded of the evil flower that plagues their existence...

I had completely forgotten about flowey at this point, so when sans mentioned him my stomach just DROPPED.

This song is the definition of asking “Are you still there?” to someone who hasn’t said anything to you in ages.

Sans once said:
"Have you ever heard of a talking flower?"
Brings me chills to this day.

The fact that flowey and even alphys are watching you throughout the entire game is some what chilling.

What makes this exchange even more chilling is the fact that, if you call Papyrus in a handful of locations throughout the game, he will mention Flowey and his interactions with him. Calling him in the room where you land on the golden flowers in Waterfall has him say "FLOWERS...? DO ANY OF THEM TALK?! SAY HI FOR ME!!! FLOWERS ARE OUR BEST FRIENDS!!" Calling him in a different room in Waterfall has him remark "ECHO FLOWERS... THERE'S ONLY ONE TALKING FLOWER FOR ME!" Calling Papyrus (after you've befriended Undyne) in MTT Resort has them say:
*Undyne*: "So you hate this dog (Annoying Dog), but like weird talking flowers?"
*Papyrus*: "THE FLOWER IS MY FRIEND!"
*Undyne*: "I mean, if having an imaginary friend makes you happy..."
*Papyrus*: "OH MY GOD!! HE'S NOT IMAGINARY! HE HAS A NAME!"
*Undyne*: "What's his name."
*Papyrus*: "FL... FLOWERY?"
*Undyne*: "Oh my GOD!! You just made that up!!"
*Papyrus*: "OK, I DID! BUT HE'S REAL!"
It really shows just how thoroughly Flowey has been manipulating Papyrus. He's so clueless, it breaks my heart...

if echo flowers existed in real life i'd just say "snoot snoot" to every single one i could find so the next person who listened to them would just hear "snoot snoot' over and over again

It's funny how everything with Flowey during the first time you experience the story makes you really apprehensive (and maybe downright scared if you had played/seen only a neutral route of the game before), yet after knowing the true ending everything with him just ends up becoming really sad

My personal theory about this scene: The fact that Sans talks about a talking Flower that tells predictions to Papyrus, for me, is an explanation why Papyrus seems to predict the future at several points in the game. (He can predict the Bush that has his face, and about him driving a sports car in True Pacifist ending)

That's because Flowey must tell him what happens in the True Pacifist ending. Because we know Flowey did all runs and "played the game" before we do.

Premonition: (noun) 1. The feeling that something unpleasant is going to happen

How does Toby Fox portray this word so accurately!!! He’s amazing

That little mysterious, cold, but innocent moment where you realise that, after all the fun you had so far in the game, *there is still something that you forgot about, something that you never wanted to see again and hopefully forgot with time, but finally came back, striking your memory, freezing you on place. This little thing, looking all innocent, but wearing the face of pure Evil itself. You wished Sans didn't bring up the subject, but you knew at that moment that it was still somewhere in the underground, watching you, listening, following you wherever you went without making you feel its dark presence.* ...until it wasn't about what you thought at all, but echo flowers! God damnit.

Frisk: "You mean Asriel?"
Sans: "What?"
Frisk: "Oh it's a long tale. An Undertale."

This song.
It’s not the greatest musically, but the emotions it gives you, makes up for it.
Seeing from the comments, people forgot about Flowey during their time in Snowdin, myself included.
So when Sans brings up talking flowers, it really brings a tense feel to the whole scene.
And then it’s about echo flowers.
THANKS SANS.

Этот ост напоминает мне о том, когда спустя годы возвращаешься в свои родные и знакомые места, но теперь они заброшены. Пустующие улицы и заросшие дороги вызывают негодование, и ты начинаешь испытывать чувство тревожности и настольгии.

It's moments like these that make me love sans. Even though his real time to shine is in the genocide run, this is your first indication of many that there's more to him that what you first see. He seems like a goofy, lazy skeleton... yet you can't shake the feeling that he's watching you very intently.

A darker message." -Flag 63; unused text

I discovered that Sans was talking about Flowey in the Undertale Wiki, and I did, indeed, get a sharp chill down my spine. That's what I love about Flowey, such a simple, yet diabolical being with so much power. It's unfathomable to think that one might be afraid of a goddamn flower.

But Flowey is more than just a goddamn flower. He's a goddamn demon.

Not many themes in a video game have made my blood cold, but this theme reminds me,

*that Flowey's ALWAYS watching.*

When sans shrugs the whole thing off at the end, I can't help but think that he thought about it more because he knew something was strange there and figured it out in the end but didn't stop anyone because he knew that was everyone's way out.
