This song makes me and my Dad cry every time, my mum passed when I was 2 weeks old and me and Dad are best friends and he adores Elbow. ‘Throw those curtains wide’ relates to so many people going through struggle, clear those cob webs out! ‘1 day a year’ if only we could spend that with her again… beautiful

This is the absolute quintessential "sun going down over the Pyramid stage" song. Honestly it's just perfect.

I love this man's voice. I recognised it when I was queuing for a bacon roll, hungover one morning after seeing the Rolling stones at Glastonbury 2013. Found myself stood next to Guy, both waiting for our greasy rolls, and me trying to be casual asking him about his new album was very graceful and warm. Cheers Guy Garvey.... hope you enjoyed ya bacon roll. ;)

I’m Chinese and a Britpop fan, first time heard this on 2012 Olympic Open Ceremony, I appreciate it so much. 12 years later this masterpiece still makes me emotional every time heard it.

This was our first dance song at our wedding! Could not have been more perfect. My dad who was around 85 at the time commented, "It's no Moon River!"

No dancing girls, no fancy light show, no fake "street cred". Just a great song, from a great band, in front of a fabulous crowd, at a unique festival, set in the most marvellously creative land on the planet. Magnificent!!!!

I had the absolute privilege of meeting Guy over 10 yrs ago. I ran a bar in Leeds and we had the band come to do a dj set. I’ve never been in a more bonkers situation where myself and guy in a lift taking him to the VIP room. An absolute gent and the nicest “celeb” I’ve ever met. Love him. Even if he is a manc! Haha

I got chills in the first 2 notes. This song is so amazing. And in Glastonbury no less. Here's to Covid 19 being over so we can all enjoy a live experience like this.

Anyone else find themselves getting all emotional watching this stuff in lockdown? I miss live music.

This is the perfect song for the days when winter starts to loosen its grip and the sun starts to come put to play.

This song was on the radio when my son was born 12 years ago. Takes me right back every time I hear it and I have to fight back the tears.

One thing that the British still got greatness is music and their bands.
I love British bands.
Thank you Radio X for introducing me to this great band and others.

That first morning waking up with someone you have been mad about for days/weeks/months is totally amazing. When the first thing you see is them smiling at you, Such a wonderful moment. I said "what would you like for breakfast, I'll get you anything!" "Strawberry yoghurt" was the response. I dashed out to the local shop and we had strawberry yoghurt for breakfast. Still makes me smile, that perfect morning when it is just the two of you and nothing else matters. We spent Saturday and Sunday together and said our goodbyes on Sunday afternoon, texting all that night. Truly smitten, the best days. Bounced into work on Monday. "Good weekend?" Yep, good weekend.
