If you’re recording music and you’re on a budget (like i was), the CT-S300 will work perfectly fine, as you can connect it to a PC via micro-USB & add VST’s to it’s track FX in Reaper or another Digital Audio Workstation to modify it’s sound down to your desire

1999 vs 2016 sound technology, Indeed a big difference

In the intro the CT-S1 sounded more like a piano and the CT S300 sounded like a harp. Don’t know if it’s the stereo speakers though.

Good comparison and tone demonstration Jeremy! The Casio CT-S1 is better than the older CT-S300 as it uses Casio's latest AiX soundchip and has many effects to improvize the tone quality, has 64 notes of polyphony, has the ability to store registration, etc. It is for people who intend to play classical music with iconic voices.

Your videos convinced me to buy a ct s1. Your videos are very useful and well done. Thank you!

I just received my CT-S300 yesterday. Although I wish the lcd screen was lit, it's not a real issue. First thing i did was add stadium reverb on the grand piano setting, then plugged it into my Peavey Max 208 bass amp. What a sound! extremely happy with it.

Thanks for another interesting and informative video. You didn’t mention that the CT-S300 has a pitch bend wheel but the CT-S1 does not - pretty important to increase expressiveness on certain tones.

Until unless you never plan to use CTS 1 as a. Midi keyboard then go for it. But if you ever want to use as a midi keyboard, I would suggest 300.
The pitch bend, which can be used as expression controller for various vst. Swam vst won't even start without it.
For the price and being so light weight it's a great 1st or 2nd keyboard.
Though the sound of CTS 1 is definitely better, not many would actually record directly from the keyboard.

Hi Jeremy!
I have noticed that audio quality in your videos is always good and clear. let it be your voice or keyboard sound recordings. Would you please consider making a video on what is your recording setup, how you record and edit your recordings?

Can you please compare the CTS1 with the CTS400? There are a few of us who would like to know if there are tones on the CTS1 that are not on the CTS400. Thanks Jeremy!

The Aix sound chip in the CT-S1 with more polyphony sound fuller. The CT-3000 sounds are fragile cheep sounding compared. I look forward to what Casio will do in the Arrangers. I purchased the CT-S1Red for the portable and deep rich sound. I have higher end Arrangers of Yamaha. Now Casio has my interest in the near future after having Yamaha brand for decades and invested in changes every several years. Casio is the one to watch.

And Yes! That $50 is money well spent! The AIX Sound Processor is super. Whatever Casio has done with the internal amplifier/speaker system has paid off in the CT-S1 as well, sounds great. 64 note polyphony, and a little better Keybed, sweet. Look forward to seeing the CT-S400. Nice comparative review Jeremy. Would like to see a review of the Bluetooth MIDI in the future. As always, Thanks!

Hi from China! I was a piano player and am moving on to keyboards. I've been watching Jeremy's reviews for hours...QUESTION for all: given the same price (secondhand trade), should I purchase a brand new Yamaha psr-ew410 OR 3-year-old Roland kb5 OR 1-year-old Korg i3 workstation?

Damn, I'm having a hard time deciding between these! CT-s1 sounds way better, but does it sound $100 better? Not sure...

An important thing for students is that the cts1 has 4 velocity curves and the cts300 has 2.
