Gerber Dual Force quality control issues

I go over my initial impressions of the Gerber Dual force.

I would say 80% of the multitools I have engage at 100%..and yes, they do develop play

Gerber is a company full of interesting and innovative designs, but their build quality is on par with I would expect from something you'd buy from the gas station for ten bucks. I've owned 3-4 Gerber products, and every one of them had at least one issue out of the box. I've absolutely loved the engineering of all of them, but never felt confident enough to rely on any of them as anything more than a conversation starter. The final nail in my personal Gerber coffin was the Dime. On the surface, it seemed like the perfect key chain sized multi-tool. I broke it within 30 minutes of taking it out of the package, so I tossed it in the scrap pile and never looked back.

I have a centerdrive that the liners go all the way to the end and after 4 years of everyday use still lock up solid

You have a point with the plier casting... but the other stuff seems sooo minor. People just LOVE to rag on Gerber for ridiculous stuff. BTW, at 2:22 your nail is dirty.

Ill always stick with Leatherman. But nothing wrong with checking out other designs leatherman can perfect lol. Good video

The liner lock critique isn’t really valid. Most MTs have that. All my leathermans (surge and wave) have it out of the box. I always figured it was a multi tool standard. Every leatherman I’ve seen has the liner lock all the way on the other side. I think them hitting in the middle of the tang is a minority if I’m honest, not a QC issue.
