The National Medical Commission on 20 Sep 2022 published its guidelines for hair transplant practice in India.

It states that hair surgery is a surgical procedure.

A hair transplant surgeon should be a plastic surgeon dermatologist with dermatosurgery background or any speciality like ABHRS with hair transplant in its core curriculum.

There is a Delhi Based NGO called COCTRAISI which claims themselves to be a Regulatory Body for Giving Legal. license For Hair Transplant Surgery to The Dentists(BDS). Isnit True? Are BDS doctors allowed to do HT?

Good Evening sir I just want to clear something and That is MDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are able to Do fellowships in Hair Transplantation that are authorised by the AOMSI..So after the recent ruling Of NMC cant even Proper MDS OMFS who have undergone proper trianing in Hair Transplantation are also Not eligible to perform hair transplantation in their clinics?? I Know A bds isnt allowed to do hair transplantation as it is unethical but from now on can MDS OMFS with fellowship in hair transplantation also not eligible?

They should have guidelines on cost of hair transplant. Some clinics charge way too much.
