I live in washington, and it is extremely annoying when people say Washington instead of Washington DC.

It is important not to confuse it with the capital, a large state, both in terms of territory and relevance to the rest of the country.

Why TF did they call us Washington instead of Columbia? Nobody calls D.C. The District of Columbia anyways, and besides half of Americans probably don't even know what D.C. stands for.

When I was dating I ghosted a couple of girls because they didn’t know about the state of Washington. They thought I was from DC. This was when I moved to Nebraska for work. lol. Bye 👋

People who live in other states don't! come to Washington state unless you don't complain about the weather and not a liberal. Californians or New York are not welcomed but maybe Texans can come 🤔.
