I really think the English version of Velvet is better. I also believe the English cast did a great job in their acting.

I have always thought the tales games had good English voice overs. The writing can sometimes be a bit spotty, but the acting is always good.this is no different.

Japanese voices have an intensity that's missing from the English voices.

This is apparent once you see all of the mystic artes.

Eleanors second mystic arte from Koshimizu Ami is crazy, "Hibike, Sudoe, subete wo messuru yaiba to kase" I swear her range is just crazy throughout the entire mystic arte.

Erica Mendez kind of flat lines it too much but it's still really good

Also, all 3 of Velvets mystic artes from Cristina Vee do not have the grittiness that Rina Satou brings, especially in the 3rd mystic arte where Satou says "tsukia na" or something along those lines.

I will say Cristina Vee brings a sort of like, cute/comforting feeling to the mystic artes which is pretty cool, even though it's a drastic change from Rina Satou

I think the English dub is amazing overall, easily one of the best dubs for a game I've ever seen so you can't go wrong either way.

Personally I think that I prefer
Velvet-Japanese
Eizen-English
Magilou-Both
Laphicet-Japanese
Rokurou-both
Eleanor-both

Well, shit.

I really like what I hear from a few of them so far -- Eizen and Rokurou are on point. Velvet's is promising, but we're gonna have to hear her going absolutely berserk a few times to know whether it reaches the heights of her Japanese counterpart.

Anyone knows what English Laphicet and Eizen say during mystic arte?
Velvet: No mercy, Elenoa: Here I come (probably), Magilou: Now it's.I might be wrong since I'm not a native speaker.

hopefully they've at least done Eleanor's Lost Fon Drive justice. her japanese one is EPIC.

Kinda disappointed of Magilou's English MA quote.

the english voice is not loud enough to make it as impactful as mystic artes in japanese

Japanese voice acting just fits everyone's character perfectly.
English just saves you the hassle of reading subtitles honeslty.

Japanese is better.
Don't get me wrong, the english is good too, just not _as_ good

All of the Japanese dub characters are AWESOME! In English, I like Velvet, Eleanor and Rokurou though.. Laphicet sounds like a girl-child-like-voice to me.. Magilou and Eizen are quite decent.. I guess this is better than English Voice of Zestiria in which, in my opinion are the worst Mystic Arte Voice..

Why are the english voices so shitty? Namco shouldn't release it with english actors, they are always so fail. Let it Japanese or give us more languages (globalization, German ftw).
