In a world full of hundreds of herbal remedies readily available to customers, medical experts told CBSLA Reporter Joy Benedict that patients should proceed with caution. This comes after the Sacramento County Coroner's office announced recently that Lori McClintock, the wife of U.S. Rep. Tom McClintock, died as a result to "adverse effects" caused from ingesting white mulberry leaf, a popular herbal supplement often used for flu-like symptoms and dieting.

"Always ask your doctor". Good advice but what if you can't find a family doctor and the doctor at the clinic only gives patients ten minutes to state their case? This is what is happening in Canada right now and that is why we have to seek advice from Dr Google.

How a CA, Congressman's (who probably shags big med and against "unregulated" supplements) wife, ingest said supplement when her hubby probably does not support the use. Were there contraindications, AE, SAEs, we got Med Hx? We need more details!!

Horrible and horrific if this herb did that. Death by dehydration. Scary and sad. I being dehydrated and it's scary . You Feel like you're dying. Head spinning every where if you open you're eyes and move 1 inch. I know.Scary
