Black Gap is a pretty "tame" trail frankly. Glad you got out and drove it. Your GX can easily handle that trail even in stock form believe it or not. My 98 LX can handle that trail and never even engage the center differential. Really just need to run 20psi or so and look out for shark rocks (slash your sidewalls) and ocotillo (puncture your tires). Aside from that, it's a straight forward and fun trail. Next time you go out that direction, check out Big Bend Ranch State Park. It's more remote and more rugged than the National Park.

That's awesome man look like lots of fun. I got a question for you Robert a good mechanic for my gx? I got a lite Vibration when I hit about 60mph or a bad wheel bearing. Thanks for the great video! Pretty impressive on the Subaru! Once again thanks Gx. 😊

I enjoy the heck out of your videos! I did Black Gap last Thanksgiving and I understand very well the intimidation factor of doing something for the first time offroad. Until going to Colorado a couple of years ago, all I had done was beach and trail running in Florida. The first "shelf" road I drove in the San Juan Mountains was Ophir Pass and it had me white knuckling the steering wheel, but after finishing Engineer Pass and Cinnamon Pass the next day, I was fine. Looking forward to Part 3!

Definitely not the beach 😂. Isn’t it amazing how a good lift, tires, and a pair of sliders can help you off-road, looks like the GX did just fine. And I’m pretty impressed with that Subaru!

Black gap is really not as difficult as the park makes it sound to be. Having a tire deflator and air compressor help a lot too. I drop my air pressure to about 10 psi, makes the trails smooth and my pizza cutter tires get a little longer / wider tread for more traction and less trail damage.

Another great video, Black Gap is a nice road to run. Of all the roads out there I like Old Ore Road with a stop at the grave and Ernst Tinaja the best. Keep up the good work!
