Hi, as a retired marine engineer of 40+years I believe a place for everything and everything in its place. The engine room looks a shambles, and I would feel the need to strip the whole interior back to the shell plating…..but given the TIME and money…what a project..if only😀.

As a retired second engineer I believe there is room for improvement in several areas to include HOUSEKEEPING, specifically related to that shithole you call an engine room…
I would be extremely worried about the condition of any machinery that hasn’t been replaced in the last 5 years due to the nature of the business. If it’s not making money it’s costing money. A good equipment maintenance log might relieve some stress …

I joined the RN at HMS Ganges in 1964. My first draft was HMS Bulwark as a radio operator. I spent an entire day being sent all over the ship from store room to store room trying to get a fuse for a dead light. Great days. Nice video and a lovely trawler.

I was thinking that a few strategically placed pipe bombs might be a good start for the retrofit of this old girl LOL. The bones are there but my God she needs a lot of TLC. Under the right ownership, she could be turned into something amazing for long-distance cruising but a wallet the size of a steamer trunk would be needed. I would love to see someone with the right vision and the finances turn this old girl into something amazing. I have been a subscriber for quite some time and I really enjoy your videos such as these. Thank you so much for the work you do bringing us these interesting videos. Cheers from Canada

I would love to see the 'after' pics. I hope somebody
with vision builds a home on this vessel.

I found your channel recently as I'm looking for a steel ship to add to my marine based electrical business. I like that you tour these older ships. You have been overly kind on this one. I appreciate that is what you need to do, as it would be hard to convince people to let you tour them if you were not. IMO the seller is going to be hard pressed to get any money for this ship, it's basically scrap so if he can't give it away to someone with a dream, he's going to have to pay money to get rid of it.

If only I had the money. I do hope someone buys her and makes her shine again.

Hoy Navy Boy! full marks for the "preparing your Scran" comment, deduct 10 points for "Chain Locker", remember, it's CABLE!! Seriously, I want this blank canvas, the potential is immense, my dream boat. Please keep up the good videos, do-er uppers are my passion!! Better to watch than the Cannes/Monte Carlo plastic boat videos.

This could be a great project if the hull plates thickness reports come out with a reasonable life expectancy. The main expense here would be the engine room. Since I hate one engine boats, I would replace the old engine with two new ones of a lower horsepower and size. That would require the modification of the aft part of the hull and maybe the rudder system. After an investment of newer electronics, a new generator and a good cleaning of the tanks, I would move the boat to Spain, Turkey or Croatia where the interiors can be done at a cheaper price. While they work on the interior, all exterior surfaces can be stripped and repainted. All this would have to be done for les than $1.2 million. One cent more than that and there are many trawlers in the same size range in the market that do not need that investment and are a lot newer. Anyway, it is a beautiful old boat.

WOW, an EXPENSIVE undertaking! I would not want a boat that is not moveable. The expense to get it seaworthy must be astronomical!

My dad spent 35 years as Engineer (20 of those were Chief) on a larger version. I know what he would say, so I'll just leave it right there.

Seems a good project for sure. The lay out is good and has workable basics. Have no idea about the investment required or its feasible condition. But would love to see her if she got a retrofit.

As another commenter who feels the need to post my resume, or the resume of a relative or a guy I met in a bar once at the beginning of every comment for some unknown reason, I know what I'm talking about and this is a boat.

Time, money and imagination could do wonders with this boat. Hopefully soon, as that wallpaper is a crime! 🤣

As a weapons engineer I was disappointed by the distinct lack of any weapons.

This could be quite a project but what an effort it would take.

That trawler has great potential to become an expedition ship. Yes, you are right that the engine room is as it was in active service. Wish she gets a good new owner who appreciates the wonderful lines of this trawler.

Love the lines of her hull!
But 125k is a bit much for just a hull.
What was her fishing number? I would like to search her history and old pictures.
That ship next to the other fisherman, is it a Friese Maatkast or Kempenaar? A Dutch barge for sure, it's for sale as well?
