We test the Segway Drift W1 e-skates! | Ride Along

A first ride on any new self-balancing vehicle can be exciting and scary.

Ride’s Pete King, a self-professed lover of self-balancing vehicles, was fascinated, if not perplexed, by the Segway Drift W1. At a total weight of about 16 pounds, and with their extreme compact design, Segway’s e-skates are probably the most compact electric mobility device on the market. But can they get you from point A to point B?

We put the Drift W1’s to the test in a 2 mile round trip to the grocery store. Here’s what we discovered.

This guy is dorky, but he's also the exact guy I would want reviewing this type of product. Does not seem like hes done a lot of rollerblading or skateboarding. It is BS that there is absolutely no suspension or even perhaps a rollerblade-type polyurethane wheel.
