Quick Tip 188 - The Edge of Oil is the third and final installment on the "Creating Edges" series. Art Teacher/Artist Dianne Mize performs several techniques to create hard, soft, and lost edges with oil paint.

How interesting! I had never seen it like that, One tends to think on edges just as depending on the "style" of the painting but, in the reality, it´s a great compositive and ideas-transmition tool! Thanks for these tips.

The key to 3D in any shape is deciding where the light source is coming from preferably from the front right or left. then work with light, mediium and dark tones for the shadows. pushing the colour to blend as required depending on your style of if a flat or round brush.
