'Unforgivable!’ Could Prince Harry Spare claims scupper any Royal peace plan? | Palace Confidential. Buckingham Palace would be ‘crazy’ to go through with peace talks with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before the Coronation in May. That’s the view of Daily Mail Diary Editor Richard Eden, speaking on our royal talkshow Palace Confidential. Eden, who says the report made him ‘choke on my cornflakes’ believes that any talks could only make things worse. ‘This is crazy. First of all, the Royal Family don’t have anything to apologise for,’ he says. ‘What would happen at this meeting? That could be a circus in itself, it could lead to a lot more acrimony.’
Given the ‘very serious family rifts at the heart of this’, prospects of genuine peace talks are ‘wishful thinking’ believes the Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English, especially given what Harry has said about his family in the last few months.

I disagree with the assertion that the Coronation is a family event. It is an event to formally crown the new Monarch which means it is a State event. British tax payers are not paying for King Charles to have a reunion with his son. Harry says that he is not trying to bring down the Monarchy but his actions speak otherwise and therefore Harry and Meghan should not come to the Coronation. Given the space limitations, surely the two seats would be better saved for people who are actually doing positive things for the UK/Commonwealth? Also to add, there is a big difference between the Coronation and the Jubilee. 1. Harry didn’t malign the Queen the way he has the King, Queen Consort and Prince and Princess of Wales 2. There was a much bigger time lag between the Oprah interview and the Jubilee for things to cool down. 3. The Oprah interview was supposed to be Harry and Meghan’s chance to tell their side. Since then we have suffered through the Sussexes media barrage of wallet inflating moaning, petty and self entitled ‘Mistruths’ and propaganda (and gaslighting) and there is only a few months til the Coronation. People won’t forgive and forget that quickly so Harry and Meghan will definitely draw more attention at the Coronation than they did at the Jubilee.
