Hello Tracy and Colin. My Norwegian Mum used to make a variety of dumplings to go with various dished- this was a sign of an upbringing in poverty, the dumplings being to pad out the meal. We make them with vegetable 'suet.'
Both these dishes looked fantastic and were large portions, as you said Tracy- they could be served with veg. to make them go further.
The meat (British beef in the dumpling dish) looked good quality and dumplings apart- you enjoyed these.

Loved your video this morning Tracy and Colin. I’ll definitely be buying the beef hash one with crispy potatoes but will give the one with dumplings a miss. Don’t like dumplings at all! I agree with Colin, some nice bread and butter to mop up the gravy! Xx ❤

Dumplings are meant to be soft but crispy on the top. They are a real belly filler in a winter warmer dish.

Now I love dumplings, I make my own and they are a squired taste. I love any stew casserole gravy meals and those would both be my definite choice . Thank you .x 👏🏼🙏🏽😘😘

We would have chicken and dumplings sometimes growing up, but I don’t know if the dumplings were the same. They were soft and wet on the bottom because they were cooked in the stew. I really liked them.

jane & I voted for the Slow cooked beef hash as we are not dumpling fans. You can see so much meat in the beef hash one. It could feed both Jane & I if we added some noodles or rice with it. Yum
