I had a boss like this. He would tear up in meetings, he was nervous often and had to talk himself up. He always insisted he wasn't very bright. But that man could motivate a team of angry opossums to haul a barge up a hill, and he never had to claim we were family or buy us pizza.
When someone does stuff with real passion, it's hard not to get behind them. Even if they are small. And especially if they know their lane and don't pester anyone outside of it.
It's like when a group of drunk girls gasses you up, and it's so small and meaningless, but then you strut around for hours like you are the greatest and it's just easier to get things done.

So, as a middle school educator, after watching this, I'm a lot less annoyed to hear this phrase every single day. This guys actually seems wholesome and it's refreshing that my students are finding something positive and motivational to tune into. I actually enjoy them telling each other to "lock in" because it actually does seem to motivate them. They are being motivated, and they get that positive interaction with their peers and feel mutually encouraged.

Reading this before I post it, it sounds super corny and I guess it is lol I'm leaving it though because this made my day. Now I can tell them to lock in and smash that worksheet lol
