Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G | Unboxing & One Week Review

Unboxing the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G, with a full review after one week of testing as my full-time smartphone. From the camera tech (which is very similar to the Find X5 Pro) to the gaming smarts and battery life, here's how the Oppo Reno 8 Pro stacks up against other premium mid-range phones like the OnePlus 10R. Which, incidentally, shares the same Dimensity chipset.

This handset's main appeal is the camera, headlined by a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with Oppo's own Marisilicon X NPU. That's similar to the Find X5 series, minus the OIS. The Reno 8 Pro 5G can shoot great looking pics and video, even at night.

Gaming is no problem for this smartphone either. Genshin Impact can be played on maxed out graphics with only the occasional stumble. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G doesn't offer as dependable battery life however, often coming close to death or dying before the end of a long day.

Got the phone a month ago and I'm still obsessed with it. Seriously amazed by the camera and really happy with its performance and responsiveness. It is a bit chunky and uncomfortable in the hand but really is worth it. Don't regret it at all.

Bought this phone after watching this review. sky mobile 100gb data is £25 a month absolute bargain. This phone big upgrade from my hawie p20 pro. I love the look of the phone reminds me of my favourite iPhone 4 when 🍏 phones were good. It's very light weight quick and the sound from the speakers are the best I've heard on a phone. Camera is amazing from what I've tested. if you want a price/performance=happy place, this phone is the best right now.

Had the reno 8 pro 2 years now, and have to say, i was very surprised at how well it has performed, has never skipped a beat, great pictures have been taken and has handled some higher end games flawlessly. As you said the battery has never been the best, i managed to get a full day out of it, but when it takes 35 minutes to fully charge, its a minor inconvenience imo.
It may be a bit extreme to say you love a phone, but this one is right up there as one the best ive ever owned :)

I'm getting one soon. I like the brand. Decent phones for a decent price. I'm currently using A74 5g. That will be a massive upgrade for myself. I got to point out that I'm not using phones for gaming but mainly photography and work so I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the review.

I can't get over how fast they're churning these Reno's out?! I originally had the Reno 2, which I loved, so decided to buy the Reno 4 pro (glitter green edition because I bloody loved the colour) and I've only had that a year. I can't believe we're now on the 8?!

Great phone. I have had mine for a year now. Still performs great and has Android 14 and ColorOS14.
Charger is awesome too.
